Mr. Jones and Dean Douglas discussed PRRI’s public opinion research which illuminates America’s changing cultural, religious, and political landscape, and this conversation helps us better understand the important cultural and religious dynamics shaping American society and politics. They also discussed Jones' recently released book White Too Long: The Legacy of White Supremacy in American Christianity.

The Just Vote with Rashad Robinson

Mr. Robinson and Color Of Change develop innovative strategies to bring about system change in the industries that affect Black people’s lives. Dean Douglas will discuss Mr. Robinson’s leadership and the more than 7 million Color Of Change members who are building power for Black communities.

The Just Vote is a series of Facebook Live conversations that will explore the issues of justice that hang in the balance in this upcoming election. Dean Kelly Brown Douglas will examine the forces attacking our access to the ballot and the importance of voter mobilization this November. These 30-minute conversations featured on the EDS at Union Facebook page will invite religious, political, and thought leaders to discuss their work on the front lines of the fight for voting rights in America.

Time of Two Pandemics: COVID and White Supremacy

In this Theology in the Public Square interview, Dean Kelly Brown Douglas will speak with The Rev. Canon Dr. Vicentia Kgabe, rector of College of Transfiguration in Grahamstown, South Africa. Born in Soweto, Dr Kgabe attended schools in Soweto and trained at the College of the Transfiguration. She continued her theological education at the University of Pretoria, where she obtained a Ph.D. in Practical Theology.

Dean Douglas and Dr. Kgabe will discuss the increased spread of coronavirus in South Africa, which recently surpassed its 500,000 confirmed Covid-19 infection, as well the continued issue of white racism which remains a societal and an institutionalized problem in post- Apartheid South Africa. This conversation took place on Facebook Live, Wednesday, August 12, 2020.
