In this conversation, Dean Douglas will explore Dr. Bunch's former role as director of the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture and the importance of telling an accurate and truthful account of American history. In addition, they will discuss criticisms the museum faced and some of the parallels of the criticisms that The 1619 Project has faced since its publishing.
